Here is an account of the personal information involved when you browse iscram2012 or send us an email. In brief: almost nothing is gathered, and none of it is sold, passed to advertisers or turned into a profile.

Who is responsible

iscram2012 is operated by the three-person team introduced on our about page. Data questions go to inbox@iscram2012.org.

Fixed pages, nothing watching

iscram2012 is published as a set of fixed pages. You cannot sign in, leave a comment or join a mailing list, so none of those databases exists. Analytics packages, ad networks, social plug-ins, tracking pixels and session recorders are all absent. No third-party scripts follow you from page to page.

The one browser entry

The first time you visit, a small box asks whether you accept or decline cookies. Your reply goes into the browser's local storage, which stops the box returning on each page. The entry never leaves your device and holds nothing beyond that yes or no. You can wipe it at any moment by clearing the stored data for iscram2012. More detail is on the cookie choice page.

Server logs

Pages reach you through a hosting company. Its servers note certain technical details with each request, including your IP address, which URL was fetched and when, and what browser asked for it. Those records serve to deliver pages, defend against attacks and trace faults. The host deletes them after a short period set by its own retention schedule, and we never merge them with other data or try to work out who readers are.

We rely on legitimate interest, namely keeping the site working and safe, as the legal ground.

When you email us

An email to us, whether typed yourself or started from the form on the contact page, hands us your email address together with whatever you wrote. That form merely prepares a draft in your mail program; iscram2012 never transmits or keeps it. We use your details solely to read and answer your message. Emails are erased once the matter is closed, normally within twelve months, unless it concerns a correction that should stay on file. The legal basis is your consent and our legitimate interest in answering readers.

Please do not send us passwords, payment details or account numbers for any gambling platform. No genuine message from us will request them.

Your rights

Readers in the EEA, the UK and places with comparable laws have rights under the GDPR or equivalent rules. You may request:

• confirmation of whether we hold your data, plus a copy;
• correction of anything inaccurate;
• erasure;
• a limit on processing, or an objection to it;
• your data in a portable format.

Where processing rests on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Requests sent to the address above receive an answer inside a month. A complaint can also be lodged with the supervisory authority where you live or work.

Children

iscram2012 is aimed at readers of 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger.

Any new feature that touched personal data would be described here first, and the date below would change.
